Abstract: "Source montages transform measured neurophysiological signals from the sensor level to the brain, allowing direct visualization of activity in specific brain regions. In multi-channel recordings like MEG and high-density EEG, they can help to reduce data complexity, disentangle overlapping signals from different regions, and save time during data review. Furthermore, source montages can inform on brain regions involved in pathological brain activity, and can be used for source-level brain connectivity analyses.  However, there are also caveats and limits to be recognized for using source montages. This presentation will cover the fundamental principles of source montages, explore their advantages, and discuss key challenges. A live demonstration in MEGreview™, MEGIN’s newly launched data analysis software, will illustrate these concepts in action."
