Abstract: "Signals Space Separation (SSS) and its temporal extension (tSSS) have proven invaluable methods for suppressing external and nearby interference in MEG studies. The lecture considers some key areas to optimize the SSS-based processing, focusing on MEGIN’s MaxFilter™ software. The topics include the following “how to” questions: inspect the head position in recorded data, set the best SSS origin, define the tSSS parameters, identify bad channels, optimize head movement compensation, and optimize head position transformations."

Jukka Nenonen, D.Sc, has been the Method Development Manager at MEGIN since 2003. His main responsibilities include development of advanced methods for suppressing interference and artifacts from MEG data, improvement of the signal quality for the data analysis, customer support in questions and troubleshooting of data problems, and customer training. He is also the author of MEGIN’s MaxFilter™ software.
